Photonality is a visual form of the language of music. I use the format of jazz music and performances, integrated with the properties of photography. This platform is not new to the art of music and painting. The abstract expressionist used this format of music and performance within their paintings.

Using the camera as an additional instrument within the performance and acting within the parameters of the music I compose the movement within the forms to create a tonal dimension around an axis. The movement of light and form around the axis, as in dance, creates a melodic flow. The artist act of working the camera becomes an intricate part of the final composition.

Each composition is comprised of a group of images acting as a whole to the entire composition. The individual images play the role of visual notes within the composition. Each image moves within the visual sound to the next image until the entire group takes on a melodic visual movement.

Photonality is a visual path within the sound called jazz.
